The Run That Changed Everything.
The story behind BDYCTRL starts with loss, a long drift, and one 3km run that changed everything. This is why I built it.
Every product starts somewhere. For BDYCTRL, it started with a father lost too young, a career that consumed everything, and a moment of brutal honesty in a pair of brand new running shoes. This is the founder story - unfiltered. Why movement matters, why the tools we have today aren't built for real life, and why BDYCTRL exists to change that.
When I was 15, my father passed away from cancer - and it shattered me.
I lost my routines, my confidence, and my direction. I gained weight, drifted into unhealthy habits, and spent years trying to find my footing.
Eventually, two things became undeniable. Life is short - shorter than I ever wanted to believe.
And if I wanted to feel good, to actually show up for the people and things I cared about, I had to take care of my body. Nobody was going to do it for me.
That’s when the gym entered my life - not just as a place to exercise, but as a lifeline.
Training gave me structure. It gave me challenge. It gave me progress.
And maybe most unexpectedly - it gave me community.
Years later, I was thriving in my career but neglecting myself again. I worked long hours, climbed the ladder, and at one point managed over 100 employees - but I had stopped moving.
Career-driven, a father of two beautiful kids, and a homeowner - the gym was the first thing to go when time got tight. I gained weight. I got sick more often. I couldn’t keep up with my kids.
During a company workshop, a performance coach asked:
“What should you do more of, that you’re not doing today?”
In that context, the expected answer was something work-related. But without hesitation, my mind said: “I need to start moving again - if I want to keep performing.”
Still, with that clarity… I did nothing.
Not for years.
Until one day, after leading one of the biggest retail launches Sweden had seen in years - months of preparation, zero margin for error - I hit a wall.
I bought a pair of running shoes and some training clothes. I went outside and ran 3km.
I felt dead.
But I also felt alive.
And most importantly - I had finally started.
A year later, I’m down nearly 30kg. I feel strong. I rarely get sick. I have energy to show up at work, at home, and for myself. Taking control of my body unlocked every other part of my life.
And that's when the idea for BDYCTRL started to take shape.
Because here's the thing - when I laced up those running shoes, I wasn't really starting from zero. I'd spent years in the gym in my youth. I knew how to train, how to eat, how to push through the early days when everything hurts and nothing feels like progress. That knowledge was still in me. I just had to wake it back up.
Most people don't have that. They're starting from actual zero - no roadmap, no experience, no idea where to begin. And the tools that exist today weren't built for them.
Even for me, someone who knew exactly what to do, the experience was fragmented and frustrating.
In the past year of getting serious about training, I used four different apps just to track my workouts, my nutrition, and my progress. Four. None of them talked to each other. None of them were built for someone juggling a career, a family, and a life. Fitness shouldn't require a tech stack to manage.
That’s why I'm building BDYCTRL, a unified fitness ecosystem designed to make starting simple, staying consistent rewarding, and progress achievable for everyone, anywhere.
Because fitness changed my life.
And I believe it can change millions more.
